Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Holiday Inn Express

Charlotte, NC

Me & my mom was flying out of Fort Worth TX coming back to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. We were flying US Airways at the time before it merged with American Airlines back in April of 2015 almost a year ago. When we got to Charlotte Douglas International Airport we were waiting to get our connecting flight from Charlotte to Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, CT. We were standby passengers & basically standby passengers have to wait in line until after everyone else has been called. Our flight from Charlotte must have been delayed maybe 2 or 3 times. It was like 10 PM or later that I can remember & there was not going to be anymore flights from Charlotte until early the next morning the people that worked at the front desk had informed us.

Meanwhile, the passengers were given a voucher & put up in a room for the night. As much as I have changed at very big airport, we learned that several other passengers were also put up in rooms. For those of you who were wondering about standby's & what that mean when flying it's simple. People who are on standby is waiting for a seat to be available just in case someone who bought a ticket backed out at the last minute then that seat on the plane will be available for a standby passenger.

My experience in Charlotte was a blessing because I had never been to Charlotte other in changing there for my final destination or coming from another airport to Charlotte. I enjoyed their Sweet Southern Breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express such as some of the following: Cinnamon buns, danish, muffin, cereal (probably the only thing I had that was not sweet), apple juice, etc. I also will never forget Carolina Pit Barbecue restaurant in Charlotte Douglas International Airport where me & my mom enjoyed Brisket sandwich, fried pickle, and my all time favorite Macaroni & Cheese for lunch. The people are friendly in the Tar Heel State & the next time I'm in North Carolina I want to visit Charlotte (Where I've changed there a lot flying) and Asheville (I hear how beautiful it is). They have great word churches in the Tar Heel State & I am going to make sure that I get into a great word church whenever I'm in NC! I hope that all of my readers enjoy!
